5 things I do to set the vibe for WFH
Open up the windows and get some natural light : Nothing makes me feel more productive and awake than natural sunlight. I cannot work if I feel like it’s dark and there is too much artificial lighting inside. I’ll even open up the windows or back door to get some fresh air if the weather is nice.
Pick a Jazz or Bossa Nova Playlist : Playing this kind of music is such a vibe. It’s so calming to play throughout the house, but not in a “I’m so chill, I could take a nap” way. It gets me into that deep focus state.
Light a candle or diffuse essential oils : The devil is in the detail. You may not think you need to be that extra when you’re working from home, but walking into your workspace that smells like a lavender field on the French country side, is tres fab.
Clear off my workspace : How are you suppose to focus and be productive when you have 7 empty cups and a pile of junk mail & bills covering your workspace? A clear workspace = a clear mind.
Leave my cell phone in the other room : This is my number 1 non - negotiable. (At least for the first half of my day) Even with the “do not disturb” setting on, the temptation to pick up your phone and scroll when you’re in between thoughts is TOO tempting. Outta sight, outta mind.
